We’re excited to celebrate an educator who is taking an asset-based approach to regularly engage with families to support their children’s learning. Asset-based approach ensures families feel special and supportedMs. Lozano, a First Grade teacher at New Heights Charter School, was nominated for her ability to balance the many facets of her job. She is highlighted as having excellent classroom management, a knack for building strong relationships with students, the ability to effectively utilize high-quality curriculum and insights into instructional practices. Notably, Ms. Lozano is also celebrated for her ability to build positive connections with the families she works with as well. She has fully embraced FASTalk, a parent communication app, to help strengthen connections with families and engage them to support their child’s learning. Ms. Lozano has an asset-based approach and growth mindset that helps her connect with families in a way that makes them feel special, supported, and promotes growth and development. We’re excited to celebrate an exemplary educator who is meaningfully engaging families to support their children’s learning in pre-K. Building strong, engaged relationships starts earlyOur first Teacher spotlight features Mrs. Foster, a PK Teacher at North DeSoto Lower Elementary School, who was nominated by fellow teacher Mrs. West. We’re celebrating Mrs. Foster this week for her outgoing and engaging efforts with students, particularly during classroom read alouds and story retelling activities. It is clear that she has fun and enjoys spending time with her students. Mrs. Foster also recognizes the important role that families can play in supporting their child’s learning. Mrs. Foster, a FASTalk user, takes the time to continually message parents and families, providing them with the knowledge they need to stay informed about what’s happening with their child in the classroom. She’s setting her students and families up for long-term success!
