Is This Seat Taken? A Roundtable Discussion about Family Members as Co-Creators in Education
Family Engagement Lab is excited to participate in the 2021 Teacher Leader Summit, a professional development conference which brings together Louisiana birth to grade 12 educators.
Join members of the Louisiana Department of Education's Family Literacy Engagement Workgroup and nonprofit Family Engagement Lab, to hear the latest research on what families want and expect from their student’s school since the pandemic and to plan a future where families are our partners and co-creators in their child’s education. Family engagement is recognized as an effective and impactful practice to boost student achievement and school improvement. This round table session brings together diverse perspectives from education practitioners in public and charter PK-12 schools, higher education and the Department to discuss strategic priorities outlined by the Department's workgroup and share strategies for effectively addressing families’ needs through equitable family engagement.
